Glamour black and white

I didn't post for some time due to lack of time, however I'm coming back with new ideas. As the very first project I've made a glamour black and white set for which I used one of popular motives - lace-looking tissue print. It's available in many colors but high black and white contrast seems to be the best:

I chose the middle one to create something eclectic and elegant and that something appeared to be: two big and two small jewelry boxes, perfect for glamour or victorian monochrome sets:

It looks nice however acrylic black paint is a bit imperfect in covering the surface. I had to paint it over few times and still it doesn't give satisfying gloss effect. Next time I'm going to use black enamel paint which dries minimum 17 hours for one layer but it's beautifully glossy. It has got also a pretty big disadvantage though - the entire surface remains a bit sticky forever and it requires few layers of a good varnish to level it. Either acrylic or enamel - both have good and bad sides. Still the entire set looks glamour anyway:

This set is perfect for placing over your dressing-table if you have your bedroom designed eclectic (a mix between classic and modern). It also fits to a movie-star-like bedroom. Just remember to undust it often ;)

This big oval has been painted offhand, but it's surprisingly even. Big motives I sticked using steam iron and bakery release paper which is coated from one side and prevents from sticking in high temperatures. It makes the print flat and equal without any crease or fold.

Almost all edges have been painted white few times using a thin brush - it makes the design more clear the box doesn't look like a big black spot. With this I went a bit to minimalism despite of eclectic approach.

Finally something of decoupage that doesn't look vintage or rustic :)
